Phil Hassell

Dr. Hassell is the pastor of Northwest Crossing Baptist Church. He is a native of Houston, Texas. Bro. Phil came to know Christ in 1973 and was called to the ministry in 1978. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Houston Baptist University, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Houston Graduate School of Theology. He has served as the pastor of Northwest Crossing Baptist Church since 1986. Bro. Phil and his lovely wife Leslie (a teacher at Reed Elementary) have been married since 1981 and have two wonderful children: Paul and Jamie.

Leslie Kessler

Bro. Kessler is presently serving as the Pastor Emeritus of Northwest Crossing Baptist Church. Bro. Les grew up in Houston and is a graduate of the University of Houston and Golden Gate Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California. Bro. Les served three previous pastorates in California as well as working with two Baptist Associations as Stewardship Chairman and Association Moderator. Bro. Les also served on the Executive Board of the Southern Baptist Convention of California. Bro. Les was converted in 1933 at the age of 10, served in the army from 1942-1946 in the pacific, and was discharged honorably. Bro. Les married June, his sweetheart, on December 24, 1941 prior to shipping out in WWII. They have a son, Ronald David Kessler of Long beach, California. June went to be with the Lord in 2006.
