Dr. Clifford Hite is senior pastor of Church @ Northwest Crossing. He grew up in Brownsville, TX. He became a Christian his junior year in high school through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). By his senior year he heard the Call of God in his life to serve the Lord. While in college he served as an FCA staff member facilitating weekend retreats and summer camps. For over 30 years now he has served with children, youth and young adults and he has done missionary work in Mexico, Central and South America.
When Brother Clifford graduated in 1984 from Texas A&M in Corpus Christi, TX he moved to Houston, TX where he was licensed to preach in May of 1993 at College Park Baptist Church and was ordained in December of 1999 at Garden Villas Baptist Church. He has served as senior pastor at Garden Villas Baptist Church and Third Baptist Church. He earned his master’s degree from Liberty University in 1996 and his PhD. from University Life Church Seminary in 2004.
While serving as a bi-vocational pastor, since September of 1999, he has also worked for the Houston Independent School District since 1987, where he was a Bilingual education teacher, a Cross Country and Track coach and Student Case Worker. He has also been Sunday School Teacher, Youth Pastor and for over 10 years has coached his sons' baseball, football and soccer teams.
He says his main desire is, “to live a life a life that is pleasing to the Lord, where he can Serve God and God’s people, and to make an eternal difference for his family and those he works with… bringing hope, which only comes through a close and personal relationship with the Living Lord.” He says, “I want to help facilitate a church where people can go to feel safe, accepted, nurtured, loved and where they can grow in Christ… bringing that hope and fullness of joy that a life in Christ always brings!”
